Pointe du Dragon
Just a few minutes from Cannes, come and discover a unique natural area. Sainte-Marguerite Island is the largest of the Lérins Islands and the closest to Cannes. A place to relax and enjoy the beaches and turquoise coves. A protected natural area with its national forest, it's also a historic site with the Musée de la Mer and the Fort Royal, where you can visit the prison where the Man in the Iron Mask was locked up.
Take advantage of this unique natural area in the Alpes-Maritimes. Stroll along the paths that criss-cross the island and enjoy the great diversity of plant life, with watering holes and picnic areas all along the way. Along the coastline, you'll enjoy superb views of Ile St Honorat, the Estérel massif, the Bay of Cannes and the sometimes snow-capped peaks of the Alps. The Pointe du Dragon lookout is a must. Don't miss the Etang du Batéguier, classified as a "Réserve Biologique Domaniale", which serves as a shelter and stopping-off point for migratory birds. There's an observatory where you can admire the birds.
